I do not like it at all!

Today's post is about an owl I knitted for a very dear friend. She is the teacher of owl class and asked me to knit her a Plop. I used lovely muted colours from Rowan to knit him in, very different to the red, white and blue owls!

Plop is a baby barn owl who is afraid of the dark - he does not like it at all! It is a beautiful story by Jill Tomlinson, with a gentle sense of humour, as he meets various people who try to persuade him that dark can be a good thing. This is the picture book version - there is also a short story version . I also have a fabulous story tape read by Maureen Lipman (but I think that would have to be an ebay find now).
This picture book has the most beautiful illustrations...
Look at the fireworks reflected in their eyes
Fabulous!
But as I logged into Blogger, everything had changed! First Facebook and now Blogger, so I now need to find time to read and then re-read and re-read to make sure I've sort of understood everything! I'd much rather be reading all the lovely blogs over on Wendy's Handmade Monday - thank-you Wendy.

Aaah, he is such a lovely owl. Blogger and Facebook are a bit like supermarkets - every so often they have a re-furb and move everything around! I spend ages trying to find where they have hidden even the basics. Hope you have a good week.

Thank you! You took me right back to my childhood. I loved this story as a child. I'm off to find a copy for my own girls now!

He is really sweet. Fon't know why blogger had to change their format. I find it a muddle so far!

Oh, I love that owl! It reminds me of a project I want to work on. I had thought to make little stuffed creatures for my new grandson of all of the little songs I used to sing for my sons when they were little. I thought I would start with the Itsy Bitsy Spider. I'm thinking that might be a challenge. Wish I had sung a song about an owl! Yours is so cute!

What a super cute owl and a great story. I'm not too sure about either facebook or the new blogger but I'm sure given time I'll find my way around.
I checked out you last couple of posts and love the cushion, the fabric is great and it looks so squidgy.

Take care

Oooh I remember being read The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark when I was at school - such a lovely book. The owl you have knitted is so cute too! Hopefully I will be able to knit that well one day!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't get to grips with the new blogger. I cannot access Stats easily anymore and that's usually where I head first! Have a lovely week :) xx
