Swanning around

Another week has gone by of the summer holidays - I can't believe it!
It's been a busy week, even though we haven't gone far. Son is back in a boot on his ankle and the weather has been rather wet here in the west.
On Friday Pickle-Lily and I decided to carry on with her swan hunt. The city of Wells, to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee created a swan trail of 60 very large swans, decorated by local artists and schools, and over the past months P has tried to see them all.
We have managed about 50 so far, they are all very different and we both have our favourites. If you do get a chance to visit Wells it is a great way to explore the city.
I also seem to have spent a lot of time cutting out - both felt and fabric, and making a lovely mess all over the floor!
P has helped by using the big shot to cut out lots of gingerbread men for me to use in the new kits I am creating for Christmas, and I couldn't help make some decorations as well!
I know it seems rather early for the Christmas, but I just couldn't resist them!
I'm linking up with Handmade Monday again this week, and looking forward to visiting the crafty blogs on there.
Have a lovely week!

The swans are really lovely. In the small pic (link to HM) the first one looks like a lily. The gingerbread men are great. Seems hard thinking about Christmas in this hot weather, but time rushes by and we all need to get a move and make, make, make. Hope you have a good week.

I have a real soft spot for gingerbread men and yours are lovely. The swan trail is a great idea, I like the dragon-y one!

It's going to be frustrating if you spot 59 swans and can't find that very last one.

Those gingerbread men look so sweet with their little smiles and hearts.

Oh, the little gingerbread men are sweet! That might be something fun to do with the grandkids, I need to start thinking of things like that.
I also love the swans, my mother loved swans.
Can you believe the summer is over? My friends who teach are already back to work. Summer is so short now. When I was growing up it was from the very first of June until AFTER Labor Day (which is the first part of Sept --not sure if you all have a comparable holiday/date). We got a full 3 months. Now it is more like 2.
Oh well. We are preparing for the possible Hurricane Isaac here. Hope to see everyone on Monday.

The Swan Trail is such fun... I've not done it properly, but I have seen a few and sent a photo of Bohemian Rhapsody to my Queen-adoring son! Your gingerbread men are adorable Rx

(PS, finally blogged about your wonderful giveaway now I'm back online again at last! I feel quite spoiled by all the wonderful goodies)
