Getting crafty

I'm sitting here in a very wild and wet Somerset writing my blog, when I should be doing lesson plans, waiting for high tide this evening, and hoping the sea will stay below the sea wall!
I made Mr P-L a key ring for Christmas, based on the idea that I love him more than jammy dodgers. I did get a bit carried away and made lots, so those are now for sale in my Folksy shop.
I love you more than jammy dodgers!
I was then left with all the little hearts I had cut out of the middle of my felt biscuits. So today, after forcing my children to write thank-you notes for their presents, I used the left over hearts to make some very simple thank-you cards of my own, to give to the children at school for their gifts they gave me.
I don't waste anything!
The lovely gingham printed paper comes from Mrprintables and I just glued the hearts onto the front. No where near as intricate as the ones you see on Wendy's Handmade Harbour, but I am pleased with them!
Simple thank-you cards
This week week I am planning to join in with Handmade Monday and catching up with everyone, so I will finish by wishing you all a very happy New Year.
Happy 2014

Quite right! This is definitely the evening for delaying lesson planning in aid of other things. I currently have my PJs on, G and T in hand and am enjoying the last few hours of peace!

I love your jammy dodger key rings and I applaud your resourcefulness in using the wee hearts too. I can tell your in education!

Handmade hugs to you x

Great key rings - I keep every cut out and scrap going - I think it's a possibly a bit out of hand with the amount I have! Great you used yours so quickly and cleverly. x

It's wet & windy here in Cov too so I've been crocheting all day!
Love the Jammy dodger key rings, ever since Dr Who waved them at the Daleks a year or two ago they have been my youngest's favourite biscuit!

I don't like wasting craft scraps either. I've recently acquired a cricut machine, which means I end up with the 'negative' of everything I make with it. I've kept the lot in case I need them.

What a good idea! I was going to get some photos cards made up but why not just make the thank you cards! That's this evenings project sorted then! :-)
